What does PECOT make?

PECOT fabricates custom polycarbonate guards, covers, panels, shields, and enclosure components. Typical parts include machine guards, equipment covers, electrical panel shields, and protective barriers. Everything is CNC cut and precision formed to order at our shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma — we do not sell standard catalog sizes.

How long has PECOT been in business?

Plastic Engineering Company of Tulsa, Inc. was founded in 1945 and has been fabricating industrial plastics for over 75 years. PECOT operates from 6801 East 44th Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

What materials do you use?

We primarily fabricate flame retardant (FR) and general-purpose (GP) polycarbonate sheet. FR polycarbonate is used where flame resistance matters, such as electrical and oil and gas applications. Polycarbonate is impact resistant, electrically insulating, and significantly lighter than metal, which makes it well suited to guards and covers that people handle or remove regularly. If you are unsure which grade fits your application, call us and we will help you choose.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?

No. PECOT fabricates one-off custom parts as well as production runs. A single replacement guard or cover is a perfectly normal order.

What files do you need to quote a part?

Send whatever you have. A DXF file is ideal, but we regularly work from PDF drawings, hand sketches with dimensions, photographs of the existing part, or just written measurements. You can attach a file directly to our online quote request, and we will follow up if we need anything else.

Can you copy or replace a broken part?

Yes. Replacing a damaged or discontinued guard, cover, or panel is one of the most common things we do. Send dimensions and a photo of the old part, or bring it to our Tulsa shop, and we can fabricate a replacement.

Do you ship outside of Oklahoma?

Yes. PECOT serves customers in Tulsa and throughout Oklahoma, and ships finished parts nationwide across the United States.

Can I visit the shop?

Yes. PECOT has a storefront at 6801 East 44th Street, Tulsa, OK 74145, and walk-ins are welcome Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM.

Why choose polycarbonate instead of metal?

Polycarbonate is lighter, does not corrode, and is electrically insulating, which matters around energized equipment. Because it is cut and formed rather than welded, there is no welding, grinding, or finishing, which usually makes custom polycarbonate parts faster and more cost-effective than equivalent metal fabrication. It is also transparent, so guards can protect equipment without hiding it. See our material advantages page for more detail.

Is PECOT the same company as Plastic Engineering Company of Tulsa?

Yes. PECOT is Plastic Engineering Company of Tulsa, Inc. This site, polycarbonatecovers.com, focuses specifically on our custom polycarbonate fabrication work; pecot.com is the company's main site. The same shop in Tulsa fabricates the parts.
